The U.S. Department of Justice recently announced that the State Attorney's Office of the 11th Judicial Circuit in Miami has been awarded a grant of $350,000 for the new Veterans Treatment Court.

"I am proud to support this important grant for the Miami-Dade State Attorney's office that will provide $350,000 to help our veterans through a special Veterans Treatment Court. This court will provide rehabilitative services to veterans who've been charged with non-violent crimes and suffer from mental health disorders or substance abuse problems. By allowing Veterans to participate in this court, they will be given the opportunity to return to civilian life while still being under the observation of the court. It's our duty to provide our veterans with the help they need, and I am proud to support them," said Curbelo.

Funding for this program was made available in H.R. 2029, "Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2016," legislation supported by Rep. Curbelo.
